Bachelor Pad 2, "Week 1": take a Jake and wipe his Pavelka

Quick Take: Bachelor Pad 2, "Week 1"
Bachelor Pad is either the worst show on television or the most entertaining show on television.

Review: Bachelor Pad 2, "Week 1"
(S0201) I learned many things while watching the season premiere of Bachelor Pad last night: Kasey and Vienna are the most annoying couple, Jake Pavelka is as dumb as I thought he was, Gia got dumber and Bachelor Pad is either the worst show on television or the most entertaining show on television.

The night started off with the introductions and each person talked about who they would not like to see in the house. Justin still seems like a jerk and admitted that he did have a girlfriend while trying to win Ali’s affections. Jackie still does not like Michelle and the feeling is mutual.

Gia hates Vienna and the feeling is mutual. But Vienna’s hatred for Gia cannot match her hatred for Jake (the latter of whom dumped her near the end of his season of The Bachelor), which is a million times stronger. There is always two sides to a story, but I don’t think it matters in the case of Jake and Vienna. Both of them seem like they are attention-seeking fame whores.  Also in the mix is Kasey, Vienna’s current boyfriend, who wants to “take a Jake and wipe his Pavelka.”

Then there is Michael and Holly, who were engaged, but broke up. Then got back together and broke up again. Are you still with me? In the middle somewhere is Erica, Graham, Melissa, Alli, Ella, Ames, Kirk, William, and Blake.

The first cocktail party is super awkward with Jake trying to talk about the weather with Kasey and Michael attempting any kind of conversation with Holly. Vienna wastes no time by going around to everybody and telling them what a jerk Jake is before he even gets there. There is a lot of tension in the house between all the exes and the women who hate each other. Chris Harrison makes his appearance by telling everyone that they need to partner up for their first challenge in the morning.

The first challenge had the men hung up by a harness and the women wrapped around them to see who could last the longest being strung up ten feet from a bed. Even though Vienna pleaded with Kasey, he couldn’t hold on, giving Jake the win. He and Jackie enjoyed a date at the El Capitan Theater and Jake was charming the pants off of Jackie by telling her how much Vienna had hurt him. It was really hard to decide if he really is sincere or if it was all a ruse.

The twosome are given another rose to hand out and for some stupid reason Jake wants to give it to Vienna. Justin and Gia tried to talk him out of it, but Jake wouldn’t listen. I agree with Justin that this decision is the stupidest move (so far) in the history of Bachelor Pad. I will hate Jake even more if Kasey and Vienna end up in the finals. Even though Jake gives her the rose and apologizes (once again, sincere or not?), Vienna does not give a crap and decides the best thing to do is go have sex with Kasey. Ewwww ABC! How could you air this even if Vienna’s naked body was blacked out? It does not matter who it is, never show something like this again.

Elimination time comes and everybody is scrambling to secure an alliance. Somehow Gia gets to Kasey and he saves her, even though Vienna tries to orchestrate Gia’s exit. Jake tries to get Gia to vote for Kasey, but she makes a good point saying that Jake didn’t save her by giving her the rose so she is going to stick with Kasey. Bad decisions are made with Justin and Alli to be the ones to take the sent home first walk of shame.

I didn’t really mind seeing Justin leave, but he did have the best line of the night by saying that Kasey sounded like Kermit the Frog and he's dating Miss Piggy. Hilarious! I thought that both he and Alli screwed up their chances by being dumb and playing both sides. Gia should have been smarter though by getting rid of Kasey.

Overall, I am hoping this does not turn into the Jake/Vienna/Kasey soap opera for the next six weeks. Mainly because I cannot stand how fake Vienna is, how fake Jake is, and the way Kasey’s voice sounds. Out  of everybody, I would like to see Michael, Jackie, Ella, or Ames win the whole thing because they are pretty much the only three contestants that I like.
