Breaking Bad Season Four: three glimpses at what's coming

After the generally disappointed response to The Killing’s debut season finale, I think we can all agree that it’s time for a palette cleanser.

Breaking Bad is coming back. In fact, it is a mere 26 days as of this writing, and that means we’re just starting to get the vague outlines about what might be in store for us in Season Four. We recently reported on the release of promotional posters and a teaser trailer that, while haunting and truly teasing, revealed very little about what to expect in the new season.

And now we get a glimpse at what’s coming via three images that have been released. If you get squeamish at even the smallest of spoilers, stop reading right now.

What can we now surmise, or wildly guess at surmising, depending?

Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul) is a) alive and b) not in prison, at least c) in the early going. We also see Jesse and Walter White (Bryan Cranston) working together in Gus’ (Giancarlo Esposito) drug megalab, which means that their long and volatile partnership will continue onward for just a bit longer at the least. What remains to be seen amongst dozens of things is the upshot of the incredible Season Three finale, in which we see Jesse pointing a gun in the face of Gale (David Costabile) in the final moment, followed by the sound of a gun firing and a cut to black.

And then we have Skyler (Anna Gunn) appearing to be running the car wash operation (and a rather stylish-looking one at that). This is an idea that she broached during Season Three, but the fact that she now looks to be taking an active role in Walt’s criminal activities proves out the continued ripple effects from his breaking bad.

That’s it, that’s all we have for now, and I find myself needing a new fix. I need me some more Breaking Bad in a bad way.
