Hell's Kitchen (U.S.) Season 7, "4 Chefs Compete": bachelors, tramps, and chefs

Quick Take: Hell's Kitchen, "4 Chefs Compete"
Teach a man how to (cook) fish...

Review: Hell's Kitchen, "4 Chefs Compete"
(S0713) After the elimination of Jason, the final four went up to their quarters.  Benjamin and Jay talk of burying the women, and think of each other as their competition.

In the morning, Ramsay cooks a monkfish dish for the chefs.  Their challenge is to teach four young bachelors/actors with limited kitchen skills how to replicate the dish through verbal directions only in 30 minutes.  Benjamin, the culinary instructor, seems to be the favorite, especially after Holli's guy puts a red pepper on the grill but doesn't turn it on.

Jay's guy makes the best dish and he gets to take along someone to share the unnamed prize with him.  Naturally, he selects Holli, who he says he owed since she took him on her win, but no one buys it.  The prize is a ride on the Goodyear blimp.

The losers' punishment is maintenance of the restaurant and parking lot.  Benjamin thinks the worst part is being alone with Autumn.  Benjamin gets rude in his interview and says Holli's a tramp but isn't shown weighing in on anyone else.  If this was recorded post-competition, it may signal that he doesn't win or that he's just a jerk.

During the evening's prep, Ramsay tells the chefs that after the last two dinner services he wouldn't give the position at the Savoy Hotel to any of them, and I don't see any of them being able to handle the job.  He allows them to pick their own stations for the service, resulting in Holli - Fish, Autumn - Garnish, Jay - Appetizers, and Ben - Meat.

At one point, Ramsay calls for orders of John Dory that he's waiting on.  Holli says it's not ready but Autumn brings it up anyway.  When Ramsay brings back and asks who thought it was good to go, Autumn goes silent, leaving Holli to answer to reveal the culprit.  Ramsay asks if Autumn tried to sabotage Holli.

Everyone is shown making mistakes.  Ramsay sends back Jay's risotto because it's bland.  Autumn sends up cold and greasy spinach twice and is told once more and she's out.  Holli is praised for her scallops but undercooks a John Dory.  Benjamin struggles the most, which leads him to get quiet and introverted yet again.

The dinner service was very good as nothing was sent back by customers.  Jay demonstrated he could lead so Ramsay tasked him with picking the two nominees for elimination.  Once upstairs as the chefs sit around smoking (am I the only one who thinks it odd for chefs to smoke?  Seems like it would affect their sense of smell and taste), Jay quickly names Autumn but is torn over his second nominee.

In front of Ramsay, Jay has Benjamin join Autumn because Holli hasn't been as bad in the services.  Ramsay feels that after that service he can't send anyone home.  He then brings out their family members for a quick visit.

Next week, unbeknownst to the chefs, Ramsay is sending home two of them.
