If you’ve watched The Bachelor or The Bachelorette for any length of time, you know that part of the deal is watching (read = enduring) endless preview and recap clips that help to fill the two hours of weekly programming. These provide amazing opportunities to get some more wine, grind down the fast forward button on your DVR remote control, or both.

In the early weeks of this season’s edition of The Bachelorette, we have been fully well warned, re-warned, and over-warned then that suitor Bentley Williams is the bad boy of the mens’ gang. In fact, in the opening episode previewing the season as a whole, the typically manipulative editing implies that Ashley has something close to a breakdown over some sort of heartbreak, and it was easy to infer that this happened close to the finale and with direct relation of Bentley.
As it turns out, this will be half-true: Ashley will have a breakdown and it will involve Bentley, but it will happen in just the third week of the reality show competition to find love. Host Chris Harrison tells People that “I don't know what steps we would have taken if this had gone on any longer or if we would have finally just shown her his interviews.” Harrison goes on to say that Bentley – who spends every inch of interview time telling the audience that while he thinks Ashley is hot that he’s not into her and basically interested in seeing what kind of play he can get or how far into the show he can get – manages to “crush” Ashley and that she is a different person for the remainder of the season. Have to love too how Bentley makes sure to mention that Ashley is a terrible kisser, in his opinion.

“A crestfallen, vulnerable little girl,” are the words Harrison uses to describe Ashley post-revelation that Bentley is a Mega Creep.
As our International Man of Mystery Austin Powers himself might say: ouch baby. Very ouch.

I will definitely be tuning in to see what all this drama is about! I don't understand how a guy like this ends up coming the show. Of course he most likely does not act like this in the interview, but how could the staff not intervene after some of his vulgar comments? I am anxious to know why he really came on this show. I think at this point I am more looking forward to The Men Tell All show!
