The Office “PDA”: too much kissing

Quick Take: The Office “PDA”
“Holly and I are like Romeo and Juliet and this office is like the dragon that kept them apart.” - Michael

Review: The Office “PDA”
(S0716) It's Valentine’s Day at Dunder Mifflin and what better way to celebrate than by having a meeting about PDA in the office. After Michael and Holly kissed the week before, they now can’t stop kissing. They can’t help it people! They are finally back together and they deserve to show it. That said, seeing him rubbing her hand while talking to Oscar was a little disturbing. Holly can’t help herself as well and in a confessional with the cameras tells them that everything Michael does is sexy; cut to him covered in cheese crumbs as he is eating cheese puffs.

Their constant making out results in Gabe holding a meeting about PDA because everyone else is complaining about them. Gabe goes over the “no PDA” rules which includes no boob honking, butt honking, or any honking of any kind. Also revealed during the meeting is how almost everyone has had sex in the office, except for Pam and Jim.

Michael is not happy about the no PDA rule and he complains about it the whole day. Both he and Holly make jokes about not being able to touch and amidst their silliness Michael confesses that he loves her. Holly looks shocked, but tells him she loves him too. They shake hands due to the rules, but Oscar yells for them to just kiss. They talk about what might happen when Holly leaves, but she doesn’t want Sabre to control their fate. They then agree to move in together.

While out for a Valentine’s lunch, Pam and Jim end up getting drunk. After the revelation in the meeting that they don’t seem like a married couple because they hardly show affection, they spend the episode looking for a place to have sex. They want to be added to the list of people who have done it in the office. It was pretty funny watching them try to find a place to hook up. Their best moments include Jim getting in a box and when they were trying to sneak into the room where Ryan works and he caught them. His response was “text me when you are done.” In the end, Pam and Jim complete their task, but the location is not revealed.

Andy and Erin had some time together also this week, wherein Erin enlists Andy in her Valentine’s treasure hunt that Gabe set up for her. I wish these two would just get back together! I wonder how long they are going to drag this storyline out. Also, Gabe is a goober and Erin is better off with Andy.

Overall the episode had a good mix of being serious and fun. I think that in the end Michael will follow Holly back to Nashua or they will both quit. Anybody else anticipating these final Michael Scott moments?

Seeing Michael and Holly together is a nice payoff for the years of anguish and lonliness that we've seen our man go through. It's a nice way to send Carell off into the (A List) actor sunset...

Agree that the episode was pretty good. This season has been consistently solid -- not amazing, not close to its early years when it was one of the best comedies on TV, but worth watching for character and occasional bursts of hilarity.
