For people of a certain generation (generations?), there was nothing more exciting than awaiting a Charlie Brown special to hit the airwaves. No DVRs, no cable TV (or very little), nothing of remote interest to compete with the occasion. It was a yearly event, and especially for Halloween, the most kid-centric of holidays.
