TV Geek Army Field Report: nothing new (so return to your crew)

For the first time in an eon (and in TV terms, that means approximately 10-14 days, give or take), there are no new or returning television shows airing tonight.

shore

That means it's time to dance with the ones who who brung ya, or some such appropriate down home sayin'.

To whit, it's a night to kick back and enjoy the shows who bring it (or ya, as it were). If you're a Jersey Shore guy or gal, let your freak flag fly (and I'll be brandishing mine proudly, I can tell you) and hang out with Snickers and her colorful posse. If smart and spicy comedy by way of 30 Rock and Community is what does it for you, NBC has your lineup on lockdown tonight (with the possible exception about a show that takes place offshore from the Shore). And there's a nice dash of drama and reality as well with the likes of Nikita, Fringe, The Apprentice, Project Runway, and more.

Now, let's rundown some of recent stellar coverage. Tom Santelli breaks down Jimmy Johnson's ouster on Survivor: Nicaragua, Lucas High muses about whether or not Sons of Anarchy is spinning its wheels (at least for a week), Mike Proper is all over Hank's mental situation and the Lindus case on Terriers, and we close with following Jules dealing with Travis heading off to college on Cougar Town.

Now that Paul Kinsey (Michael Gladis) made a brief but splashy and phenomenal return during last night's Mad Men episode, "Christmas Waltz," there remains only one significant advertising pro from the early seasons who has not made an appearance in the Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce era.
