TV Geek Army Field Report – will no ordinary (family) be extraordinary?

Strategy (strategery?) is interesting to think about in terms of television programming: I wonder if shows that premiere before or after the big fall television premiere week have a better (or worse?) chance of surviving versus those featured during the blitzkrieg of shows that debuted last week.

no ordinary family

In any event, ABC's No Ordinary Family has the stage relatively clear tonight in terms of major new show premieres. Early reviews of the family-with-superpowers show seem to range between the iffy and the lukewarm (that's the same range that contains points called things like "take it or leave it" and "remote chucker" in case you're wondering), but yours truly will be checking it out simply because it stars Michael Chiklis i.e. one Vic Mackey of The Shield fame/infamy.

Also, make sure to check out new TV Geek Army writer AdamW's stellar take on How I Met Your Mother's latest, and our coverage of the season premiere of HBO's Bored to Death (in short: still quirky, still great),

Now that Paul Kinsey (Michael Gladis) made a brief but splashy and phenomenal return during last night's Mad Men episode, "Christmas Waltz," there remains only one significant advertising pro from the early seasons who has not made an appearance in the Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce era.
