Bachelor Pad 3, "Week 5": a woman scorned

Quick Take: Bachelor Pad 3, "Week 5"
Alliances are shaken as a new twist is introduced in the Bachelor Pad house.

Review: Bachelor Pad 3, "Week 5"
(S0305) I just want to thank all the people who were responsible for getting Jamie off of my TV last week. She was really annoying and needy, and it was sad to watch her explain how much she thought Chris was into her. That girl needs to go rent He's Just Not That Into You stat! I would rather watch more of Blakeley than Jamie on Bachelor Pad and was glad that no one listened to Chris. Now the alliances are being tested and that definitely makes this show more interesting.

With Blakeley surviving the rose ceremony, Chris is now the odd man out. No one in the house, and probably anybody watching this show, could see how it made sense to break their alliance and vote off Blakeley. Michael had the quote of the night saying “Chris has taken up all the a--hole space possible in the house”. Chris confronts Kalon and Ed for backstabbing him with them both not denying anything.

The next morning the mood is tense as a new challenge is presented to the housemates. For the challenge, the contestants have to race back and forth between two tables seven times while carrying a tray of saucers with cups on top; adding more as they get to each table. Blakeley and Sarah both get to the end with all of their cups, but Sarah is disqualified for holding onto the top of her cups while walking. On the guys side it is Tony who wins and this is a plus for Blakeley as they are now partners.

Chris is not happy and realizes that he and Sarah could be done in the game. Blakely decides to take Tony on the date and gives the other rose to Kalon who chooses Lindzi to go on a date. Kalon and Lindzi get the first date along with diamonds for Lindzi to wear and a Bentley for Kalon to drive. They head out to the city with a GPS telling them where to go. It leads them to a closed bridge where they get to have dinner. It is kind of strange but I am digging this couple. Kalon is harsh and didn’t treat Emily very well, but for some reason Lindzi is totally into him. She seems so nice and would be the last person I would have thought would be drawn to Kalon. Somehow it works and I am totally rooting for them.

The next date is for Blakeley and Tony, who get to go on a camping trip. Blakeley isn’t very happy, but sucks it up since she wants to get out of the house. They have a nice dinner, dance under the stars and spend the night together. I have to give props to the producers for playing a blast from the past for them to dance to. After watching their date, I really hope she is interested in him, because he is too nice to be treated like dirt.

The next day Tony is allowed to give out another rose to a lady and Chris is scrambling for Sarah to get that rose. His plan fails and Tony gives the rose to Jaclyn to secure their alliance. It is rose ceremony time and Chris Harrison comes to stir the pot. He starts off with asking everybody how their relationships are going now that everybody is going to start competing as couples.

Kalon/Lindzi, Rachel/Michael and Tony/Blakely admit they are having feelings, but poor Jaclyn is left out in the cold when Ed says “I made a decision before I got here that romantically I would never, ever get involved with anybody and I still firmly believe that”. Ouch. The whole room gets quiet and everybody is embarrassed for Jaclyn.

Chris H. decides to drop another bomb on the contestants that everybody is going to send a lady home tonight and she is the one that is going to pick a guy to take home with her. Everyone is in shock and starts to form a new plan. Chris wants to vote out Lindzi to get back at Kalon, even though Chris knows she will take him home with her. Michael decides to take out Erica and makes it seem like Chris is the one that devised this plan so he will go home. After hearing this plan, I knew it was doomed from the start. Erica learns about the plan, confronts Chris and he takes her to the voting room to show her that he is voting for Lindzi. Duh, people talk! They figure out what is going on and everything backfires. So, unfortunately, Erica takes Michael down with her. I hate to say it, but Michael deserved it a little. They should have taken one for the team and voted Lindzi out and had her take Chris with her.

With Michael out of the game, I am rooting for dark horse Nick and Rachel to win this. He has been quiet and rarely shown, but with Rachel as a partner now I think they can go far. Heck, I just want anybody that is not Chris to win this game! I am looking forward to the last episode when everybody confronts him and tell him what a jerk he is.

I think that Tony and Blakely are really good together and I’m glad that she got through the camping trip. It was kind of romantic. Things are finally starting to get interesting and I won’t be home to watch the new episodes. So I decided I’ll just watch the new episodes on Dishonline.com. It allows me to stream the episodes right to my laptop which means I can keep up with the show on my lunch breaks. I work at Dish so I got to try it out a few weeks ago. It’s actually pretty handy. I’m really hoping that Chris goes home: I’m having trouble following his strategy since he seems to be making enemies left and right. Now that Michael is gone perhaps everyone will focus on getting him off the show.
