House, "Love is Blind": Billy!

Quick Take: House, "Love is Blind"
"I thought we already had the Santa Claus talk." - Wilson

Review: House, "Love is Blind"
(S0814) I am a big fan of Michael B. Jordan. From The Wire to Friday Night Lights, he has struck me as the kind of actor who transcends race and simply provides an honest portrayal in whatever project he's working on. I would even go as far to say he reminds me of a young Denzel Washington.

I've never really understood why House (Hugh Laurie) doesn't get along with his mom. I understand his dad, but his mom seems like a lovely person. Why couldn't he work past his childhood issues? Although, I suppose if I found out my mom was banging Billy Connolly, I'd be upset as well, but only because she didn't tell me.

I loved the medical mystery in this episode. Not only was it interesting seeing how the symptoms of a blind person can be misdiagnosed but Park's (Charlene Yi) trip was a really great twist. Having never experienced the joys of acid, I can only imagine that seeing the things Park saw must be partially accurate, but even if they're not, tradition insists that she see a giant animal of some sort.

Maybe all the years I spent watching this show have given me a false sense of intelligence but it seemed pretty obvious that the kid started coughing up blood whenever he felt guilty about his girlfriend. How or why it happened, I have no idea, but it can't be a coincidence right?

Since it was announced that this will be the last season of House, I've been watching a little differently. Whenever something significant happens to the main characters, I wonder how it will affect the finale. Case in point, Bell (Billy Connolly) finding out House is his son. He might be a little late, but I think he's the kind of guy who would be duty-bound to play some kind of role in his son's life. Now the question is will House tell Bell the truth or does he have something else planned?

House's mother stood there and did nothing while her husband "disciplined" him as a boy. She *should* have been just as culpable for abuse.
