Jersey Shore: They're baaaaack... for Season Two on July 29th

Whether you're laughing with the Jersey Shore gang, or more likely laughing at them, I'm here to say that it's okay to be mega-fist pumping-kill that beat psyched about the return of Jersey Shore (Season Two premieres July 29th on MTV).

The good peoples at MTV were kind enough to release the first ten minutes or so of the first episode:

I was actually pleasantly surprised to note that the kids had not yet transformed into caricatures of caricatures of caricatures of themselves and were still holding in squared (not cubed) territory.

Most amusing was learning that 2getha4eva couple Ronnie and Sammi "Sweetheart" (the self-described "sweetest bitch you'll ever meet") had broken up. That should hold some nice drama in store for our Jersey Shore family as they go mobile and head to Miami for part of the season before returning to the shore of Jersey (Seaside Heights, to be exact) from whence they came. Angelina – most known for her annoyingly nasal hello! in the opening credits – will be back. Her original tenure was brief, but her Facebooking savvy plus an LA hookup with Pauly D seems to have ensured an escape from Staten Island and back into the gang's good graces. And meanwhile, Snooki has a "juiced up" boyfriend named Emilio back home, so it will be interesting to see if/how/when Snickas self-destructs while playing it long distance.

And what of JWoww (count those W's kids) and the man known by the name The Situation because he wants people to know the situation with The Situation if you follow? We're just going to have to wait and see, now won't we.

Finally, is it bizarre or perhaps even disturbing that Mad Men's Season Four and Jersey Shore: Part Duh are premiering a mere four days apart (Mad Men returns on July 25th on AMC), a sign of a television apocalypse forthcoming perhaps? No, says I.

It is merely to note that there will be much rejoicing in the best high brow and low brow shows on TV come late summer.

You may now return to partying on in anticipation.
