Revenge, "Loyalty": what is it good for?

Quick Take: Revenge, "Loyalty"
"This mausoleum is too cold and empty to be called a home." - Victoria

Review, Revenge, "Loyalty"
(S0110) Things are certainly getting complicated for Amanda (Emily Van Camp). With her plan in full swing, it's being threatened by a hustler looking to score some big cash and the girl who she paid to pretend to be her. It seems to me that considering how well thought out her revenge plot is, she should have a few safeguards in place to account for things like this.

I don't know what the point of Amanda's workout session was other than to show us she can handle herself in a fight. However, considering that her instructor is also her spiritual adviser shouldn’t he have told her that before she headed down the path of revenge, she must dig two graves?

I have to give credit to Tyler (Ashton Holmes) for being the most nauseating villain on television this season. His predatory creepiness is so off-putting that I literally avoid my eyes when he is on screen. As much as I want Amanda to get rid of him, I secretly was happy that he tried to blackmail Conrad (Henry Czerny).

I'm not sure how much I care about Declan (Connor Paolo) and Charlotte's (Krista B. Allen) romantic drama. I like the fact he took Victoria's (Madeline Stowe) check with plans to use on a house for the two of them, but it doesn't seem to have anything to do with Amanda's revenge story, so I'm barely interested.

As much as I like Revenge, this episode got dangerously close to prime-time soap opera territory. However, seeing Amanda confront her father's ex-attorney was enough to keep me hooked for, at least, one more week.
