True Blood, "Soul of Fire": who mourns for Marnie?

Quick Take: True Blood, "Soul of Fire"

Review: True Blood, "Soul of Fire"
(S0411) Remember all those vampire movies where the vampire hunters show up armed to the teeth ready to kick butt? Leave it to True Blood to flip that on it's ass. The sight of Bill (Stephen Moyer) and his crew locked and loaded was pretty awesome.

Too bad Sookie (Anna Paquin) had to get trapped inside and put a damper on things. Pam (Kristin Bauer) makes a good point about Bill and Eric (Alexander Skarsgard) thinking with their little vamps. Aren't some things more important than “fairie-mones?” The fact that they were ready to off themselves, without hesitation, in order to save Sookie might be something to bring up when electing a new Sheriff.

I have tried for a long time to resist the idea that werewolves are, for some reason, a lower life form than vampires or any of the other creatures on TB, but Marcus (Dan Buran) and Debbie (Brit Morgan) are such sleazy scumbags that they truly seem like the white trash of the monster community.

How nice was it to see Andy (Chris Bauer) finally catch a break? After years of no respect and addiction a strange fairy gives him a little glimpse of happiness. I guess it's a good thing that he's too stupid to know that there's no way it can end well.

If I could make one change on True Blood it would be for Sookie to finally realize what her powers are and how to use them. It's getting tiresome to watch her wait until the last minute to save the day with a flash of her hands.

Despite any criticisms I may have with this episode, I can't deny that Marnie's (Fiona Shaw) eventual demise was pretty awesome. She had clearly lost touch with her original intentions and lost all of her followers as well, except one. Which brings up a good safety tip, never get between a vampire and his kill.
