TV Geek Army Field Guide: breaking in comes back out

If I was in Boston, I'd declare that I'm wicked amped that Breaking In returns tonight. Even though it was widely praised and grabbed solid ratings during its brief first season run, the Fox sitcom went to the brink of getting cancelled before being brought back for a mid-season premiere.

Breaking In is fresh, quirky, silly, and (best of all) funny while still grounding its characters and situations just enough to hold a semblance of reality. That said, it's broad and stylized fun, performed by a spectacular cast fronted by Christian Slater in clearly the best role he's grabbed in many years and Bret Harrison, who gives us the same earnest charm that helped create the very special and short-lived comedy that was Reaper.

In short, watch Breaking In tonight. It'll be worth your while.

And oh yeah, if that's not enough: make sure you catch Justified and Southland, both in the midst of stellar runs.
