As year piles upon year, and massive piles of thousands of hours of television nights fly by in a kaleidoscopic maelstrom, there are few rock solid mainstays that we can look to year after year. That are worth looking to.

TNT is one of those networks that I’m always meaning to check out more but haven’t quite found the time.

Lots of good stuff on tonight, but really we have three of the best shows on the air coming to us in the 9:00-11:00 hour in the form of HBO’s Boardwalk Empire, Showtime’s Dexter, and AMC’s The Walking Dead.

Ah, a typical weekend at the TVGA HQ (located in a secret bunker 20 miles below sea level), where upon I found myself feasting on a pair of bride- and wedding-centric shows: VH1’s My Big Friggin’ Wedding and We’s Bridezillas.

I never cease to be fascinated by television programming being aired on the outer fringes of the basic cable dial.

It’s been a weird sixth season of Weeds, so it makes sense that I’m weirdly looking forward to tonight’s season finale (10PM on Showtime).

AMC, I thought you could do me no wrong, and then you do me like this.

Let’s face it: there’s a lot of frivolous froth on TV. And that’s a good thing: television is an extraordinary entertainment medium. But it’s also capable of informing, educating, and enlightening as well.
